This video does a better job of showing the storm. If you can’t see it in the video, it is hailing!

Thunderstorms are back!
While France in covered in snow and the Venice canals are freezing over, we are in southern Portugal where it is 61°F with thunderstorms every other day. Theo enjoyed a bit of rain!
We are hoping the weather improves soon, but it does look like the sun is another week out. In reality, we have it pretty good. It was high overcast this morning and we had a pleasant run. The Saturday market this morning was great. Next week we will have to arrive earlier as a good share of the vendors had already packed up. Most things had great prices, for example fresh pears are €0.10 each.

Babies are Awesome
Babies create some of the most fun interactions! This evening we had dinner at a nice Indian restaurant. Theo was more interested in the happenings of the restaurant than dinner and spent most of the time facing backwards in his high chair. Our waiter loved Theo! He ask if he could hold Theo while we walked to the door! Never had that happen back home. 🙂

Wind and Waves
Today the surf report was 6.6m (that's 22ft for those back home) at 13 seconds with the wind blowing at 54kph gusting to 75kph. We walked out to the point south of town to witness the event. The waves were impressive!

I managed to make it out surfing for the first time as well. (Sorry, no pictures). The beach (Meia Praia) is sheltered from the full swell, but it was still one of the biggest days I have been out in. A solid double overhead. I made it outside (even being out of surfing shape!), but didn't catch any waves. Too chicken to sit deep enough. It was refreshing to get in the water though!
The plants on our deck had a bit of a rough time of it too:
